  Worst safeway ever. Not enough staff, store stock and appearance is neglected. Never enough cashiers or functioning self check out. Safeway upper management clearly doesnt care about this store. I avoid it if i can.

  Walk in at 11:44 pm. Run through grabbing what I need. Hear MOD call out "bring all purchases and alcohol to front, closing in 5 min" just as I am walking into line. EXTREMELY RUDE woman at check-out (cared nothing other than to keep yelling to manager "I'm done") Refused to ring-in alcohol (11:57 pm...VA State LAW 11:59.59). Said she needed manager authorization after I showed her my ID. Then proceeded to void alcohol. Manager said corporate policy stops alcohol purchases made after 11:55 pm....yet he called for last call at 11:55 pm...system recognized the purchase when it was put in at 11:57 and didn't reject it. He insisted that he would "lose his job." Absolutely DEPLORABLE management and employees. Pathetic customer service. Will never shop here again. Traveling to FOX MILL GIANT FOREVER (live 3 min from this Safeway). What a joke. Not 1 penny more to be spent here by myself, girlfriend, or roommates. LITERALLY tens of thousands of dollars in purchases a year gone! Good job Safeway. Keep up the good decision making and hiring and corporate policies. Last thing, listed online as being open till 1am...smh... FAIL.
